Quality Engineer - Now Hiring


Position Description:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for the continual improvement of quality performance through analysis, reports, and team-based improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Initiate action for food safety issues.
Collaborate with Quality Leads and Production Leads to improve quality performance and customer satisfaction, including reducing complaints, internal hold activity, and scrap.
Generate necessary data and reports for customers, vendors, and internal departments.
Lead quality initiatives to remove process-related reactive costs.
In coordination with Quality Leads investigate customer complaints associated with product quality and lead the development of root cause analyses, DOE, or 8D programs to produce effective corrective actions.
Reports directly to the Quality Leader
Analyze data and process specifications to determine improvement opportunities.
Participate in and/or lead Root Cause Analysis focus teams.
Actively participate in supplier quality initiatives.
Has the authority to place product on hold, release hold product, make process changes, shut down machines and start machines.
Manages a team of quality technicians.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Or relevant work experience and background.
Experience in quality and mechanical systems (preferred).
Excellent project management with analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills.
Ability to drive results across multi-departmental areas.
Strong interpersonal skills, highly organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Understanding of process improvement concepts in team-oriented environment, such as DOE, FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, SPC, and other analytical problem-solving/continuous improvement tools.
Competence in the use of computers and operating systems with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Salary: $17 per hourEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
